Chris Jones
A personal site for the BBC's rugby union correspondent, built to feel like a big match night: fixtures counting down to kick-off, the pod, the grassroots game and a kicking game with Chris on commentary.

Where they started
Chris is heard every week on 5 Live and Rugby Union Weekly but had no home of his own online. Everything about him lived on other people's pages. He needed one place that brings his work together, looks the part next to the BBC and stays within what a BBC journalist can say about himself.
What we built
- A full-bleed hero outside Twickenham with a Next up card counting down to the next big kick-off, in UK time
- A fixtures board with kick-off times and a link straight to BBC Sport live scores, kept fresh every month
- Rugby Union Weekly with all four hosts and links to BBC Sounds, Spotify, Apple and YouTube
- A grassroots section, because every Test starts at a club
- Take a kick: five last-minute conversions from a club 2nds game to Twickenham, wind and all, with Chris calling every kick from the commentary box
- Photo mosaic from Chris' own matchdays, a contact form for club stories and media enquiries, and Chris' house style throughout
- Self-hosted fonts, no cookies, a UK GDPR privacy notice and zero accessibility violations
How it's helped
Chris now has a site that sounds like him and looks like the sport he covers. Search for him and the first thing you find is his own page.
